Location: Morristown, NJ

 

Schedule:

• 3 days/week: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Weekly Call: 1 night of call, 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Call: 1 weekend shift of on-call per month
• Schedule includes both scheduled shifts and required call coverage.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Critical Care experience – Required
• Active RN License – Required
• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive and accurate patient assessments across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Provide safe, competent, and appropriate nursing care based on patient condition and procedure.
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and emergency procedures.
• Complete accurate and timely patient documentation, including assessments, interventions, education, and patient progress.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, safety standards, and professional practice guidelines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, and two-patient-identifier requirements.
• Provide safe patient transfers and use appropriate body mechanics.
• Assess and care for patients undergoing surgical and procedural interventions.
• Individualize care based on the procedure, anesthesia, and patient's clinical condition.
• Monitor patient response and understanding of procedures and instructions.
• Prioritize patient care according to acuity, needs, and changes in condition.
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments and patient/family education.
• Assess patient understanding and provide appropriate education regarding procedures and discharge instructions.
• Support timely completion of patient testing and review Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) orders for completeness and appropriateness.

Physical requirements are consistent with the occupation's established safety and occupational medicine standards.

Ideal Candidate: An experienced RN with a strong Critical Care background who is comfortable with procedural patient care, emergency situations, pre/post-procedure assessments, patient education, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
