Travel Behavioral Health RN | Adolescent Unit | Nights | 13-Week Contract

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment working with an adolescent psychiatric population. This opportunity offers the chance to provide care in a high-acuity behavioral health setting while collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team.

• Guaranteed Hours: 40

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate psychiatric nursing care.
• Conduct patient assessments, intake screenings, and triage.
• Administer medications and monitor treatment effectiveness.
• Utilize therapeutic communication and crisis intervention techniques.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams.
• Assist patients in achieving treatment and recovery goals.
• Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions and treatment plans.
• Monitor for behavioral, emotional, and physiological changes.
• Support suicide prevention and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Adhere to HIPAA requirements, facility policies, and nursing standards of practice.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (permanent license required at submission).
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health/Psychiatric RN experience.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Ability to work with adolescent psychiatric patients.
• Comfortable floating to child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric behavioral health units as needed.
• Willingness to serve as Charge RN if requested without additional differential.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and crisis intervention skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Sunrise (Allscripts) EMR experience.
• Experience in high-acuity psychiatric settings.
• Adolescent behavioral health experience.

Facility & Assignment Details

• EMR: Sunrise (Allscripts)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Parking: Free onsite parking
• Orientation: Conducted during day-shift hours and held every other Thursday
• Non-Billable Orientation: 16 Hours
• Shift Cancellation Policy: Up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract

Important Notes

• Maryland Livescan fingerprinting is required prior to start.
• Permanent RN license must be in hand before submission.
• Candidates must pass all required drug screening and compliance requirements.
• Requested Time Off (RTO) is limited to 7 days maximum per contract and must be submitted with the initial application.
• Travelers should be comfortable working in a high-acuity psychiatric environment and floating as needed.
