Description
Job Title: Surgical Technologist / Surgical Technician
Facility: Methodist Medical Center – Carle Health
Location: Peoria, IL
Department: Surgery
Contract: 10/19/2026 – 01/16/2027
Schedule: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Call: Rotating call
Job Description:
The Surgical Technologist will provide surgical technology support for direct and indirect patient care and assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures. The technologist will scrub for simple to complex surgical procedures across various specialties, prepare for surgeon-specific procedures, and anticipate expected and unexpected intraoperative needs. The role may also provide support and guidance to other surgical technologists and students.
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology OR completion certificate from a Surgical Technology program
- BLS – American Heart Association
- IDPH Fingerprinting
- Surgical technology experience/skills
- Experience with operative/invasive procedures
- Ability to scrub for simple to complex procedures
- Strong critical-thinking and independent decision-making skills
- Fluent English
- Basic computer skills
