Performs all aspects of SLEEP recordings according to departmental policy and in a professional and personalized manner. 1.1 Obtains and documents a general history from all patients which includes a diagnosis and medications 100% of the time. 1.2 Prepares patient and applies electrodes using the international 10-20 system, 100% of the time, and routinely within 30 minutes. 1.3 Recognizes artifacts on recording with an attempt to eliminate from 80% of the time. Requests assistance when in question. 1.4 Complete sleep record according to department policy and procedure and assure accurate data collected and documented on study, meeting the basic competency of task accomplishment. 1.5 Recognize and correct when able, malfunctions of equipment in order to provide optimal test results meeting the basic competency of quality focus. 1.6 Communicate effectively with patient on expectations and requirements to complete optimal testing meeting the basic competency of service orientation. 1.7 Complete and forward data to appropriate personnel at the end of each study meeting the basic competency of task accomplishment. 1.8 Recognizes, monitors, and/or eliminates artifacts such as high-impedance leads, muscle artifact, eye movements, respiration artifact, and/or EKG in order to obtain an adequate test. Assure proper documentation of procedures with effective communication to patients and staff.
