Position Overview

The ICU RN will be primarily assigned to the Step-Down Unit (SDU/PCU) with a typical 1:3 patient ratio. The RN may also provide occasional ICU coverage as needed and may float to other ICUs or the SRC campus.

Responsibilities & Skills

• Care for patients in SDU/PCU and ICU settings
• Care of ventilated patients
• Arterial line management
• Central line care and management
• Interpretation of ABGs
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Continuous IV sedation
• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• IV therapy
• Respiratory/thoracic care
• Isolation precautions and PPE

Requirements

• 2+ years of RN experience
• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required
• NIHSS – Preferred
• Epic experience
• Ability to float to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
• Every-other-weekend (EOW) coverage required
• No call
