Position Overview

The RN will work primarily in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and may be required to float to the Step-Down Unit based on facility needs. The role requires strong critical-care experience with airway management, IV drip management, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.

Clinical Skills

• IV therapy
• Arterial line management
• Central line care and management
• Airway management
• Care of ventilated patients
• ABG interpretation
• Continuous IV sedation
• Titration of vasoactive drips
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Isolation precautions/PPE

Required Certifications

• ACLS – Required
• BLS – Required
• NIHSS – Required

Requirements & Additional Details

• 2+ years of RN experience required
• Epic experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Travel experience required
• Experience with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Every-other-weekend coverage required
• No call
• Must float to Step-Down/SDU as needed
• Must float within scope based on facility needs
• Pending license accepted, but must be active before the start date
• RTO exceeding 7 days requires approval
• Guaranteed hours
• Block scheduling not available
• Locals not accepted
