RN / OR Supervisor – L&D & PACU Experience

Shift Options:

• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, OR
• 4 × 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Traveler must specify preferred shift at submission

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced RN / OR Supervisor with strong Operating Room, Labor & Delivery (L&D), and PACU experience. The RN must be able to assist with C-sections and recover patients who have previously been under anesthesia/sedation when needed.

The position also supports pain management/HPM and specialty clinics, including podiatry, general surgery, and other services.

Key Clinical Requirements

• Strong L&D experience with the ability to assist with C-sections
• PACU experience required to assist with post-anesthesia recovery
• OR/surgical nursing experience
• Ability to provide direct patient care when needed
• Experience with pain management/HPM preferred
• Ability to support specialty clinics such as podiatry and general surgery
• Strong Critical Access Hospital (CAH) background required
• Central sterile/sterile processing experience is helpful

Call Requirements

• 10–14 days of call per month
• Call is for OB C-sections only
• 30-minute callback requirement

Certifications & Licensure

Required at time of submission:

• AHA BLS
• AHA ACLS
• AHA PALS
• Kansas RN license or Multistate/Compact RN license

Leadership / Supervisory Responsibilities

• Oversee surgical schedules, room turnover, and patient flow
• Provide direct patient care as needed
• Manage staffing and shift scheduling
• Train, mentor, and conduct performance evaluations for OR nurses and surgical techs
• Serve as a clinical resource and provide leadership during complex situations
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and pre-/post-operative departments
• Resolve operational and patient-care issues across departments

Compliance & Safety

• Enforce hospital policies and infection-control standards
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including OSHA and applicable AORN standards
• Maintain safe surgical and patient-care practices

Resource & Equipment Management

• Monitor surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment
• Coordinate inventory needs with central processing and vendors
• Support efficient sterile processing and OR readiness

Qualifications

• Active RN license with required Kansas/Compact eligibility
• BSN or related healthcare degree preferred/required per facility
• Typically 3–5+ years of clinical OR experience
• Prior OR Supervisor or Charge RN experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, crisis-management, and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile processing
• L&D and PACU experience strongly required for this assignment
• Strong CAH experience required
