RN – CFH Med/Surg
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Facility: Carle Foundation Hospital
Address: 611 W Park St, Urbana, IL 61801
Contract Hours: 36 hours/week
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Overview
The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to an assigned group of patients while utilizing the nursing process, clinical judgment, technology, and available resources.
Unit / Patient Care Responsibilities
- Med/Surg – T6
- Receive bedside shift report
- Perform patient assessments and interpret vital signs
- Complete admissions and discharges
- Administer medications using the 5 Rights
- Perform and document hourly rounding
- Develop and update patient care plans
- Provide patient education
- Respond to patient call lights and triage patient needs
- Identify and respond to changes in patient condition
- Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Delegate appropriate tasks to HCTs and validate completion
- Maintain patient safety and documentation standards
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 year of relevant RN experience
- Trauma Level I experience required
- EPIC experience required
- Med/Surg experience
- Strong patient assessment and nursing judgment skills
Education
- Required: ASN / associate's degree in nursing
- Preferred: BSN
Required License & Certification
- Active Illinois RN License in good standing
- BLS – American Heart Association
