Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 26-week assignment providing care to laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns. The unit cares for high-risk obstetric patients and serves a culturally diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for C-sections.
• Care for high-risk obstetric patients and manage complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension.
• Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and other medications used in obstetric care.
• Provide newborn assessments, thermoregulation, identification, and family education.
• Support breastfeeding and provide postpartum and discharge education.
• Float to other areas within the nurse’s scope as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Active California RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP.
• Must have the required L&D skills and experience, including fetal monitoring, vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and high-risk obstetric care.
• Postpartum experience preferred.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
