Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong direct transplant surgery experience. The nurse will support liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures, including placing donor organs into recipients. Transplant experience is mandatory; organ procurement or harvesting experience alone does not meet the requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for transplant and general surgical procedures.
• Support liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant surgeries.
• Assist with general surgery cases when transplant procedures are not scheduled.
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Misonix/CUSA equipment.
• Maintain infection control, laser safety, and fire safety practices.
• Handle and label specimens accurately and follow surgical time-out procedures.
• Participate in training students and new staff at this teaching facility.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of direct Liver/Transplant OR RN experience.
• Strong experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplants, clearly documented on the skills checklist.
• Must have experience implanting organs into recipients, not just harvesting or procurement.
• Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA is required.
• BLS and ACLS required at submission; AHA or American Red Cross accepted.
• NIHSS must be obtained before the start date.
• Epic experience preferred.
• First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted.
• Pending license may be accepted, but licensing requirements must be met before starting.
