Job Summary
Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Medical-Surgical RN for a 14-week assignment on a non-critical care unit. The nurse will care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with a variety of medical-surgical needs, including patients on remote telemetry.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients on a Medical-Surgical unit.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
- Provide peripheral IV care, IV therapy, and phlebotomy as needed.
- Administer oxygen and provide basic respiratory support, including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management.
- Monitor patients on remote telemetry and respond to cardiac or other emergencies.
- Use rapid response and code teams when clinically indicated.
- Follow infection prevention and isolation precautions.
- Float to similar units within the facility as needed and within scope of practice.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
- Previous Charge RN experience required.
- BLS certification required.
- Epic experience required.
- Medical-Surgical experience, including remote telemetry, required.
- Patient ratio experience of approximately 1:6.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
