Position Overview

The Registered Nurse will provide patient-centered nursing care on a 36-bed Med-Surg/Oncology unit serving a diverse patient population.

The unit cares for Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Hospice, and hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions.

The RN will work in a collaborative environment with Clinical Care Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.

Unit Staff

The unit utilizes:

• Clinical Care Coordinators
• Registered Nurses (RNs)
• Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Unit Secretaries

Patient Population

The RN may care for:

• Medical-Surgical patients
• Oncology patients
• Hospice patients
• Hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions

Clinical Skills & Procedures

• Wound VAC changes
• Drain removal
• IV/PICC line care
• Foley catheter insertion and removal
• NG tube insertion and removal
• Monitoring patients requiring cardiac monitoring
• Providing care to medical-surgical and oncology patients
• Providing supportive care to hospice patients

The unit utilizes:

• I-Med
• I-Mobile
• Neurons vital signs machines
• Glucometers
• PCA
• Wound VAC
• Chest tubes
• Surgical drains

EMR / Documentation

Meditech

The RN will be responsible for accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, treatments, and outcomes using the facility's Meditech system.

Floating Requirements

Travelers may be required to float to:

• Med-Surg
• Telemetry

When floating to Telemetry, the assignment will be limited to Med-Surg-level patients.

Schedule

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Shift Length: 12 Hours
Guaranteed Hours: 48 Hours/Week

Weekend Requirements
