Location: Baltimore, MD 21201

Shift: Days, 07:00–17:30
Schedule: 4x10-Hour; 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; 4 call shifts per 6-week period; 1-hour call response time

Call Requirement: Yes – 4 call shifts per 6-week period
Note: Holiday, weekend, and on-call coverage required. First-time travelers accepted.

Position Overview:

The OR RN provides perioperative nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric surgical procedures, including general, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, trauma, transplant, thoracic, urology, gynecology, plastics, ENT, and robotic surgeries.

Job duties:

• Provide safe perioperative nursing care throughout surgical procedures using evidence-based practices and infection-control standards.
• Scrub and assist with surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including general, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, and transplant surgery.
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and sterile fields according to procedure requirements.
• Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to emergencies, including malignant hyperthermia, code situations, and other acute events.
• Perform surgical counts, specimen handling, time-out procedures, and medication/blood product management to support patient safety.

Requirements:
License: Active MD or Compact RN License
Experience: 2 years OR RN experience; previous charge experience required
Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred
Other requirement: Epic experience required; trauma experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted; must be available for weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements.

Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: General and complex surgical patients across vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, pediatric, transplant, endoscopy, urology, ENT, thoracic, and robotic procedures.
