Registered Nurse – ER
Location: Hagerstown, MD 21742
Start Date: 10/19/2026
Duration: 15 weeks
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
Schedule: Every other weekend; up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
Patient Ratio: 1:4
Charting System: Epic – Required
Float Required: No specific float requirement stated
Call Requirement: No
Note: Level II Trauma Center; high-acuity, fast-paced 54-bed ER averaging 220 patients/day. First-time travelers not accepted; at least 1 year of ED travel experience required.
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN for a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center. The RN will provide emergency care to a broad patient population, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, while managing critical conditions and trauma cases in a fast-paced 54-bed emergency department.
Job duties:
- Perform rapid triage and comprehensive assessment of emergency patients across all acuity levels.
- Manage respiratory emergencies including ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway support.
- Administer emergency medications, IV therapies, blood products, and vasopressors as clinically indicated.
- Monitor cardiac and neurological conditions, including dysrhythmias, CVA, and other high-acuity presentations.
- Provide trauma and emergency interventions including orthopedic trauma, gunshot wounds, and emergency cardiac response.
Requirements:
License: Active RN license; Maryland or Compact license required
Experience: 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year of ED travel experience required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
Other requirement: Epic experience required; high-acuity Level II Trauma ED experience preferred. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and caring for diverse age groups.

Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: High-acuity emergency and trauma conditions, respiratory emergencies, CVA, cardiac emergencies/dysrhythmias, orthopedic trauma, gunshot wounds, and other acute medical conditions
