We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to provide direct perioperative patient care and function as a first assistant to the surgeon.

The RNFA will practice in an expanded perioperative nursing role and use advanced knowledge, skills and clinical judgment to assist the surgeon throughout surgical procedures.

Practice Settings:

• Operating Room (OR)
• Labor & Delivery (L&D) Suite

Key Responsibilities:

• Function as the first assistant to the surgeon during surgical procedures
• Provide direct perioperative patient care
• Assist the surgeon under their supervision
• Apply advanced RNFA knowledge and technical skills during procedures
• Anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers and other perioperative staff
• Maintain high standards of patient safety and surgical care

Required Qualifications & Certifications:

• CNOR certification
• Current California RN license through the California Board of Registered Nursing
• Current CPR certification
• Current ACLS recognition
• RN First Assistant/perioperative surgical-assisting experience
