Description
Unit: Emergency Department - Preceptor
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience; no first-time travelers
- Active Oklahoma or compact RN license
- BSN required
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI, and PALS
- Level I trauma experience
- At least 6 months of recent Epic experience, including proficiency with code narrators
- Skills in IV insertion, central lines, titratable drips, massive transfusion protocols, ventilator/oxygen management, and chest tubes
- Positive attitude, supportive teamwork, and respect for all staff
Schedule and patient care
- Shifts: 6:45 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Ratios: Typically 1:4; may flex to 1:5
- Patients: Trauma, stroke, cardiac, respiratory failure, behavioral health, DKA, sepsis, renal failure, and oncology
- Weekends: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Holidays: 1 major and 1 minor holiday during both summer and winter
- Time off: Up to 7 days may be approved
- Schedule: 4-week cycles
