Pathologists’ Assistant NYC, New York City
Selects and identifies tissue for microscopic examination.
Describes measures and dictates gross findings on select specimen using appropriate terminology. Determines proper fixative and decalcification procedures.
Photographs specimens as appropriate for specific use and documentation.
Grossing specimens/biopsies*
Approx. 200 cases/day
Epic & Cerner Millennium
Required:
NY DOH Pathologists’ Assistant License
Minimum 2 yrs experience
Ability to gross specimens/biopsies
Preferred:
ASCP certification
Ability to provide frozen section coverage
