Cardiac Telemetry RN – Job Breakdown

Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Unit: 7N Cardiac Telemetry
Location: Independence, Missouri
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour days)
Contract: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week is an option

🏥 Unit Details

• 36-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Approximately 70 staff
• Patient ratio: 1 RN : 4–5 patients
• Full staffing:
  • Day: 1 charge + 9 RN/LPN + 3 PCT
  • Night: 1 charge + 8 RN/LPN + 3 PCT

❤️ Required Experience/Skills

ACLS – Required

Candidate must have experience with:

• Cardiac telemetry
• Recovering post-cath patients
  • Sheath removal is not required
• Pacemaker placement patients
• Stroke patients
• Amiodarone drips
• Cardizem (diltiazem) drips

⭐ Preferred

• NIHSS – preferred

💻 Equipment / EMR

• EMR: Meditech
• Pyxis
• Alaris pumps
• Welch Allyn vital-sign machines

🔄 Floating

Traveler may float to:

• Other telemetry departments
• Med-Surg
• PCU

👕 Dress Code

• Gray scrubs for RNs

📅 Weekend Requirement

3 weekend shifts during a 4-week schedule

For day shift:

• Saturday
• Sunday

For night shift:

• Friday
• Saturday
