Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies and procedures. The RN monitors and evaluates patient functional status while providing safe, individualized, and compassionate care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process in caring for assigned patients.
- Complete assessments and individualize plans of care according to unit and nursing guidelines.
- Provide nursing care while considering cultural, psychosocial, and age-specific factors.
- Organize, prioritize, and perform appropriate nursing skills.
- Anticipate patient and unit needs.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of biopsychosocial principles.
- Delegate and communicate effectively and appropriately.
- Demonstrate professional judgment in response to changing patient and unit situations.
- Document nursing care and the nursing process accurately and consistently.
- Maintain accurate and concise records using appropriate medical terminology.
- Address patient problems and progress toward expected outcomes.
- Facilitate patient education and discharge planning.
- Make timely and appropriate referrals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and disciplines.
- Support unit and hospital goals through quality improvement and educational activities.
- Attend mandatory in-services and meet unit education requirements.
- Complete variance reports accurately.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 0–6 months of related experience.
- Epic experience required.
- Working knowledge of disease-state management, biopsychosocial models, and clinical pathways.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing clinical and numerical data.
Education:
- Completion of an approved professional nursing program.
- Must hold or be eligible to hold a Registered Nurse license.
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Valid multistate or Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license.
