An immediate 6-week travel contract opening is available for an experienced Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) in Houston, Texas (Texas Medical Center). Operating within the 14 Tower Cardiology unit at an internationally renowned Level I Trauma Center and major academic medical institution, this high-earning position features an approved 48-hour daytime schedule (4x12-Hours, Days, 48 guaranteed weekly hours). NO ON-CALL REQUIRED! HIGH-VOLUME CARDIAC EXPERIENCE! The unit specializes in acute congestive heart failure (CHF) management and post-cardiac catheterization recovery. If you are an acute cardiac telemetry nurse skilled in managing antiarrhythmic and inotropic infusions, post-PCI vascular access site monitoring, continuous rhythm analysis, and working in a fast-paced tertiary setting looking to earn $2,583/week with maximum tax-free stipends in Texas, this contract is built for you!

- Weekly Gross: $2,583.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,491.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $21.00/hr (40 regular hours)
- Overtime Rate: $31.50/hr (8 weekly OT hours included)
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Day shifts, 4x12-Hours. Candidates must demonstrate schedule flexibility (assigned scheduling; no self-scheduling).
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 total hours guaranteed weekly (40 regular hours + 8 overtime hours).
- Assignment Duration: 6-week short-term contract.
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (EOW) rotation.
- On-Call Requirements: NO ON-CALL REQUIRED! (Voluntary standby on-call available per departmental needs at $7.00/hr).
- Facility & Department: Level I Trauma Center / Academic Medical Center / Unit: 14 Tower Cardio (Telemetry Division).
- Clinical Focus & Patient Population: High-volume adult cardiology specializing in decompensated Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), post-cardiac catheterization (PCI/stents, diagnostic angiograms, device implants), post-procedural femoral/radial sheath monitoring, and acute cardiac dysrhythmias.
- Medication & Drip Administration: Experience with set-rate and titratable infusions including Amiodarone, Heparin, Cardizem, Dopamine, and Dobutamine.
- Floating Scope: First to float to related acute care and telemetry service lines as operationally required.
- EMR System: Epic (Epic experience is strictly required).
- Parking Logistics: Multiple on- and off-campus parking options ($15+/day daily rates, or monthly garage/lot permits ranging from $95 to $120/month).
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated acute care Cardiac Telemetry clinical experience (3+ years strongly preferred). Prior travel nursing experience and background in a large, high-acuity tertiary hospital (>400 beds) are highly valued.
- Licensure: Active Texas RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal.
- Certifications Required at Submittal:
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
- Technical Requirement: Prior clinical proficiency with Epic EMR is required.
