Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Telemetry RN to provide inpatient care on a 30-bed medical/telemetry unit caring for medical, cardiac overflow, post-trauma, and post-surgical patients.
Requirements
- 1+ year of inpatient Telemetry experience required
- Current RN license eligible for Missouri or active Missouri RN license
- BLS – AHA required
- NIHSS required before start (may submit without it)
- Experience with drug titration required
- Must be flexible and decisive in a fast-paced environment
Unit Details
- 30-bed Medical/Telemetry unit
- Patient population: Medical, Med-Tele, and cardiac overflow
- Night ratio typically 1:6–1:7
- Day ratio typically 1:5–1:6
- Ratios are not guaranteed
- EPIC charting
- Telemetry monitoring
- IV pumps, tube-feeding pumps, and lift equipment
- Rotational floating required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in condition
- Perform and monitor medication/drug titration
- Coordinate care with physicians and other departments
- Evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers
- Maintain patient rights, safety, and confidentiality
- Care for patients with medical comorbidities, trauma, and post-surgical needs
Schedule & Submission Details
- 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts
- 36 or 48 hours/week must be specified at submission
- Weekend coverage as required by the facility
- No call
- Block scheduling may be considered based on facility needs
- RTO must be submitted upfront
- RTO cannot be approved during the first week
- RTO must be made up at the end of the assignment
- Only 1 holiday RTO can be requested
- Night-shift orientation is on days; candidate must be available for the full orientation week
Compliance
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required from November 1–April 1
- Flu declinations are not accepted
- Black scrubs required
- Local candidates are accepted at $10 below the posted travel rate
