Description

Pathologists' Assistant - New York, NY

Location: New York, NY 10075
Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Schedule: Flexible hours available (morning or evening), Monday-Friday and/or weekends

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Pathologists' Assistant for a high-volume laboratory setting in New York City.

Responsibilities:

Select and identify tissue for microscopic examination
Describe, measure, and dictate gross findings using appropriate pathology terminology
Determine proper fixation and decalcification procedures
Photograph specimens for documentation and educational purposes as needed
Gross specimens and biopsies
Work in a fast-paced environment handling approximately 200 cases per day
Utilize Epic and Cerner Millennium systems

Required Qualifications:

Active NY DOH Pathologists' Assistant License
Minimum 2 years of Pathologists' Assistant experience
Strong experience grossing specimens and biopsies

Preferred Qualifications:

ASCP Certification
Experience providing frozen section coverage
