Position Overview
Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) for a 13-week travel assignment.
The RN will provide direct patient care across all age groups in a high-acuity, busy urban Level I Trauma Center. The department is also a Stroke and STEMI Center and regional burn center, making prior high-acuity emergency nursing experience essential.
The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while coordinating with physicians, ancillary departments, and other members of the healthcare team.
Schedule
- Shift: 3:00 PM–3:00 AM
- Shift Type: 12-hour evening/night shift
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours
- The selected guaranteed hours must be indicated on the submission form
- Weekend: As required by the facility
- Call: None
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Night-shift orientation: Night-shift travelers will orient on day shift and must be available for the entire orientation week
Required Licensure
Missouri RN License
Candidate must have:
- Current RN license or
- Meet the criteria to be eligible for licensure in Missouri
Required Certifications
The following certifications are required:
- BLS – AHA
- ACLS – AHA
- PALS – AHA
- TNCC
- NIHSS
NIHSS Exception
NIHSS may be submitted without the certification, but the candidate must obtain NIHSS before the assignment start date.
Important
BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Required Experience
The candidate must meet one of the following experience requirements:
Option 1
- 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level I Trauma facility
OR
Option 2
- 2 years of Emergency Department experience in a Level II Trauma facility
The qualifying trauma-level experience must be clearly indicated on the candidate's resume.
This is a busy urban trauma center, so candidates should have strong emergency nursing experience and be comfortable working in a high-acuity environment.
