Description
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (NICU RN) – Day/Night Rotation
- Schedule: Day/Night Rotating Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 06:30 – 19:00 or 18:30 – 07:00 | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
- Extra Shift Requirement: Must work 2 additional shifts per 6-week schedule period.
- Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Typically scheduled every third weekend and holiday (or every other weekend based on unit coverage needs).
- Floating Protocol: Routine floating to Mother-Baby or Labor & Delivery to serve as the dedicated Transition/Baby Nurse or care for well newborns. Rare possibility of floating facility-wide as a Safety Advocate/Sitter or Task Nurse.

- Clinical Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 3 years of dedicated Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) clinical experience strictly required [HARDSTOP].
- Advanced Neonatal Clinical Capabilities [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical proficiency managing mechanical ventilation (ventilators) and central line management in a high-risk neonatal population strictly required [HARDSTOP].
- Mandatory Orientation Testing [HARDSTOP]: Must pass an open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during Friday orientation (failure results in immediate contract termination) [HARDSTOP].
- Radius & Affiliation Restrictions [HARDSTOP]:
- Permanent address must be greater than 50 miles from the facility (Driver's License required at submission to verify distance) [HARDSTOP].
- Candidates cannot be currently employed (Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN) with any affiliated health system network facilities [HARDSTOP].
- Dress Code & Hygiene Policy [HARDSTOP]: Strict prohibition of artificial nails; refusal to remove artificial nails results in immediate contract termination [HARDSTOP].
- State Licensure [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]: Active Nebraska RN License OR active Multi-State Compact RN License strictly required at submission [HARDSTOP].
