Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse – Pediatric Medical/Surgical Float
Facility: Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA)
Location: 1001 Johnson Ferry Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30342
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Position Overview
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Float for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will float across multiple specialty units and must be comfortable working at both CHOA main campuses.

CSO Med Surg Float
Float Coverage Includes:
- CACU
- TSU
- AFLAC
- CIRU Specialty Units
- Other assigned specialty areas as needed
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Float between the two main CHOA campuses: Arthur M. Blank Hospital (AMBH) and Scottish Rite Hospital (SR).
- Work 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week.
- Every other weekend (EOW) required.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience.
- Must be willing to work one holiday rotation based on facility needs.
- Typical RN patient ratio: 4–5 patients per nurse.
- BLS and PALS certification required.
- Active Georgia RN license or Compact State RN license required.
Facility Requirements
- Flu vaccination is mandatory. CHOA requires all travelers to be vaccinated; no exemptions, declinations, or waivers are accepted.
- CHOA is a nicotine-free facility. Candidates are required to comply with nicotine testing as part of the screening process.
- Successful completion of the facility's required drug screening and onboarding requirements is mandatory.
