Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients across a variety of clinical settings, including critical care and intensive care units. The RRT will assess patients, provide respiratory treatments, manage ventilatory support, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and implement appropriate respiratory care plans.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients with respiratory conditions and changes in respiratory status.
• Provide respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation and other respiratory support equipment.
• Assist with critical care patients and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of respiratory assessments, treatments, and patient responses.
• Float between Methodist, University, Fishers, and Morgan locations as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of experience required.
• 2 years of experience preferred, with at least 18 months of recent ICU experience.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required.
• Indiana Respiratory Therapist license required.
• ACLS certification required.
• BCLS certification required.
• Respiratory therapy education must be accredited through CoARC and regionally accredited through CHEA.
• Strong critical care and ICU respiratory experience required.
• Ability to float between multiple facilities as needed.
