Description
RN – Endoscopy | Bakersfield, CA
Start Date: 10/26/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 36 hours/week
Shift Length: 12 hours
Unit: GI / Endoscopy
EMR: Cerner
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience
- Procedural sedation experience required
- Call experience required
- BLS
- ACLS
- CA RN license
Common Procedures:
- EGD
- Colonoscopy
- ERCP
- Bronchoscopy
- EUS
- PEG
Additional Details:
- RNs cover all 3 phases of care
- Recovery of MAC and procedural sedation
- RNs may assist with bedside procedures in the ER and ICU when needed
- No block scheduling
- Every other weekend
- Weekend call typically 1 day, 7 AM–7 AM
- Holiday call is rotational
- 30-minute call response time
- No floating outside the Endoscopy/GI lab
- May travel between two nearby campuses
- OR scrubs provided
- Unit orientation typically 2–3 days depending on experience
