Job Breakdown – Registered Nurse (Endoscopy)

Facility: Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca
Location: Ithaca, NY
Department: Endoscopy
Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts
Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

🏥 Hospital + Outpatient Endoscopy Center

The role covers both:

• Outpatient Endoscopy Center
• Main Hospital Endoscopy Unit

Main Responsibilities

• Coordinate inpatient and outpatient procedures
• Complete pre-admission nursing assessments
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide post-procedure care
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Provide equipment and supplies for procedures
• Monitor and document patient condition
• Educate patients and families
• Maintain equipment and a clean/safe procedure environment
• May function as a charge nurse
• May supervise LPNs, endoscopy technicians, aides, and patient access representatives

Requirements

• Current NYS RN license – Required
• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Must obtain before completion of introductory period
• Previous hospital aide or LPN experience is listed as the experience requirement
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
