Description
OR RN — Assignment Details
Interview: Manager interview
Unit: 28 rooms, including 2 CV/vascular hybrid rooms
Volume: Approximately 60–75 cases daily
Requirements
- 2–3 years of acute care experience
- BLS and ACLS
- Epic experience required
- Ability to scrub and circulate
- Level I–II trauma experience
- Critical care experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
- IR Hybrid Techs: 3 years of hybrid experience required
Unit and patient care
- Patients: Inpatient, outpatient, and trauma; approximately 20% pediatric
- Specialties: General surgery, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, ortho, neuro, cardiac/open-heart, kidney/heart transplants, and donor cases
- Hybrid rooms: Adult cases including TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, angiograms, and fistula revisions; approximately 5–10 cases daily
- Floating: None
Schedule and call
- Schedules: Options include 3x12s, 5x8s, or two 8-hour and two 12-hour shifts
- Weekends: Every fourth weekend, Saturday–Sunday
- Scheduling: Rotation-based; no self-scheduling. Six-week schedules provided 2–4 weeks ahead
- Holidays: Coverage required
- On-call: Depends on shift/service line; 30-minute response time required. Sleep room available
- Time off: Manager approval required
- OR provides emergency coverage 24/7
