Description

Travel Respiratory Therapist assignment at Rapid City Hospital, 13-week contract, 36 guaranteed hours per week, 6/12-hour variable shifts, busy and fast-paced Respiratory Care Department, approximately 260-280 beds with daily census of 250-260, patient population includes adult critical care, pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, highly progressive and acute respiratory care, and general inpatient respiratory care, must be prepared to care for NICU patients when required, EPIC EMR required, Omnicell, 24/7 support from Charge RT and Respiratory Clinical Specialist with supervisors, manager, and director support, RT coverage throughout the hospital and ED, may float within the hospital and ED but generally will not float to other facilities unless specified in the contract, every-other-weekend rotation, holiday coverage required when holidays fall within the contract, pewter scrubs, free parking, equipment includes Draeger V500 and Savina 300 ventilators, 3100A and 3100B high-frequency oscillators, Bunnell high-frequency jet ventilator, Hamilton C1, ResMed APAP/CPAP/Bi-level, Airvo2 high-flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 blood gas machines, IPV, and Vero iNO device.

Required: Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required, CRT may be considered based on experience and manager review, AA degree, BLS, ACLS, critical care experience, general respiratory care experience, EPIC experience, South Dakota RCP license required before start, NRP required if the requisition requires NICU coverage, first-time travelers may be considered only with strong experience and manager review, must be able to work every other weekend and holidays during the contract, call requirements depend on the specific facility/job requisition, travelers must fulfill all guaranteed weekly hours, Preferred: strong critical care experience for first-time travelers, time off may be requested up to 7 days if department can accommodate, full-week time off requires contract extension, no RTO during the Sturgis Bike Rally first 3 weeks of August, approved time off does not waive guaranteed weekly hours.
