Description

Pediatric Surgical Technologist (Pediatric OR Tech) – Day Shift

Schedule: Day Shift | 4x10-Hour Shifts | 07:00 – 17:30 (Monday – Friday) | 40 Guaranteed Hours Per Week
- Schedule Structure: Self-scheduling available (balanced prior to publishing; max 2 Mondays or 2 Fridays off per 6-week schedule block). Guaranteed hours do not apply during 12-hour orientation.
- On-Call & Weekend Protocol: Mandatory on-call rotation of 1 weekend every 4 weeks (Saturday 07:00 – Monday 07:00); weeknight call as scheduled. Must adhere strictly to a 30-minute call response time.
- Holiday Protocol: On-call coverage for 24 hours if a holiday falls within the contract period.
- Floating Protocol: Floats within the surgical department (Ortho, Neuro, General, Cardiac, SPD) to assist between cases, provide relief, or second-scrub; may primary-scrub general cases based on experience.
- Cancellation Policy: Facility may cancel up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment without penalty.
- Dress Code: Hospital-issued surgical scrubs provided on-site (scrubs must remain on facility premises).

Clinical Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 2+ years of scrub experience strictly required [HARDSTOP]; 2+ years of dedicated pediatric surgical scrub experience strongly preferred.
Education & Training [HARDSTOP]: Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program required (NBSTSA/NCCT CST certification preferred, but non-certified techs accepted).
Submission Profile Data [HARDSTOP]: Must include last 4 digits of SSN, middle initial, active IL license/registration status (or application initiation proof), and all requested time off (RTO) at time of submission [HARDSTOP].
Drug Screen Policy [HARDSTOP]: Candidate must pass a full-panel drug screen prior to start (Drug-Free Campus policy) [HARDSTOP].
Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]: Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support — Healthcare Provider) certification [HARDSTOP].
EMR Requirement [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical proficiency with Epic EMR strictly required [HARDSTOP].
