Denton, TX | 6-Month Contract | 8 Openings

We are seeking experienced Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to provide nursing care and support to individuals residing at a State Supported Living Center in Denton, Texas. The role involves caring for individuals with intellectual disabilities and complex medical, mental health, and behavioral health needs.
 

Position Details

• Contract Duration: 6 Months
• Openings: 8
• Schedule: Sunday – Saturday
• Shift Options:
  • 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM: 6 positions
  • 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM: 2 positions
• Shift Requirement: Shifts may alternate based on staffing needs
• Start Date: Flexible; candidates may start any day of the week after completion of required pre-employment processing
• Response Deadline: November 4, 2026, by 5:00 PM CST

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatment, and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Administer medications and perform prescribed treatments.
• Provide medication education to patients and caregivers as applicable.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Perform computer-based data entry and related administrative tasks.
• Follow facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable healthcare regulations and standards.
• Comply with ICF-IDD regulations, HHSC standards, policies, rules, and directives.
• Support the overall health, safety, and well-being of residents.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid and current LVN/LPN license.
• Minimum 2 years of LVN experience required.
• Must meet applicable HHSC immunization requirements.
• Must successfully complete the required drug screening.
• Must successfully complete required fingerprinting/background clearance.
• Must complete all required facility and HHSC training.
• Strong clinical, communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.

Submission Requirements

Candidates submitted for consideration must provide:

• Updated resume/work experience
• Two professional references from different places of employment, completed by a supervisor
• Current NURSYS report showing all licenses held
• Skills checklist
• Preferred shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• Candidates should be prepared to work Sunday through Saturday, with shifts assigned based on facility staffing needs.
