Title: Registered Nurse – Pediatrics
Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
Duration: 16 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12 (07:00 AM–07:00 PM) | Every other weekend

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Pediatric experience preferred
• BLS & PALS required
• Epic experience required
• Compact RN license must be in hand at submission
• Travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted
• Must be willing to float within scope
• Patient ratio: 1:3–5
• Must work 5 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
• No 48-hour weeks approved
• On-call may be required based on unit census
• 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Must disclose any previous Providence employment/travel/registry experience
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, or NYD

Description:

• Pediatric MedSurg RN position at a Children’s Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Patient population: Infants, Pediatrics, and Adolescents
• 35-bed unit with approximately 27 daily census
• 1:4 staffing ratio; expected ratio 1:3–5
• Float between units and potentially nearby sister facilities as needed
• Skills include:
  • Pediatric respiratory care
  • BiPAP/CPAP management
  • Oxygen delivery systems
  • Bottle, breast, and gavage feedings
  • Breastfeeding and breast milk handling
  • IV therapy/phlebotomy
  • Central line and implanted line care
  • Hyperbilirubinemia management
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Isolation precautions/PPE
• Epic charting required
• Free parking
• Scrub color: Navy for RNs
