Registered Nurse – CVOR
Location: Atlanta, GA
Facility: Piedmont Atlanta Hospital
Duration: 15 Weeks
Shift: Day, 3x12 Hours (06:30 AM–07:00 PM)
 

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).
• Assist with complex cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, and transplant surgical procedures.
• Scrub and circulate for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies according to procedure requirements.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and follow surgical safety protocols.
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and other members of the surgical team.
• Assist with CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, MAZE procedures, and other cardiovascular surgeries.
• Assist with vascular procedures including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, carotid stenting, AV fistula repair, and femoral-popliteal bypass.
• Assist with thoracic procedures including thoracotomy, VATS, and lung/lobe resections.
• Provide care and support during procedures involving IABP and ventricular assist devices such as LVAD/RVAD.
• Float within the facility and scope of practice, including the Main OR, as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Previous travel experience is not required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience preferred.
• Patient ratio experience: 1:1.
• Strong cardiovascular and thoracic surgical experience preferred.
• Scrub experience in cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgery preferred.
