Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced ER.
• Perform patient assessment, triage, monitoring, and emergency interventions.
• Manage cardiac monitoring, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and obtain 12-lead EKGs.
• Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, IV therapy, medication administration, and blood product administration.
• Manage central lines, BiPAP/CPAP, IV vasopressors, continuous sedation/paralytics, and emergency medications.
• Provide procedural sedation monitoring and care for CVA, psychiatric, overdose, and multisystem organ failure patients.
• Follow isolation precautions and maintain patient safety standards.
• Float when census requires and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• 1+ year of ER/RN experience; strong ER experience preferred due to the fast-paced environment.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required.
• Strong combined adult/pediatric ER experience.
• Mandatory phlebotomy and IV-starting competency.
• Experience with dysrhythmias, cardiac monitoring, emergency medications, vasopressors, sedation, and blood products.
• Experience with central lines, CVA, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and isolation precautions.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Every other weekend required.
• Float required when census warrants.
• Travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted.
