Title: Registered Nurse – ICU/PCU
Location: Odessa, TX 79761
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 4x12, 07:00–19:00

Requirements:

• 1 year of RN experience required.
• High-level PCU or ICU RN experience strongly preferred.
• 1:4 patient ratio experience; Critical Care ratio may be 1:2.
• Cerner experience required.
• ACLS and BLS required; TNCC/TCAR required or must be obtained within 30 days.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with PCU/Stepdown, telemetry, and critical care patients.
• Strong skills in arterial/central/PICC lines, ventilated patients, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and insulin drips.

Description:

• Support a newly opened PCU while caring for MS/Tele, PCU, and critical care patients.
• Unit operates as a universal suite, with rooms functioning as Telemetry, PCU, or Critical Care beds based on patient acuity.
• Patient population includes Afib RVR, TAVR, post-PCI, DKA, COPD/asthma exacerbations, stable ventilated patients, high FiO2 requirements, heart failure, and renal failure.
• Provide care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Manage arterial lines, continuous bedside monitoring, respiratory support, feeding tubes, wound care, hemodialysis, and cardiac monitoring.
• Float required when census is low: to Critical Care (1:2–3) or Med-Surg/Telemetry (1:5–6).
• Self-scheduling with every-other-weekend coverage.
