Description

Title: Registered Nurse – PCU 
Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night 3x12, 19:00–07:00

 

Requirements:

  • 2 years RN experience; 1+ year required per job overview
  • 1:4 patient ratio; weekends 1:5
  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
  • Epic required
  • Travel experience not required
  • Level II Trauma experience preferred
  • PCU/Telemetry experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, rapid response, IV therapy, central lines, blood products, heparin protocols, cardiac/vasoactive drips, and insulin drips
  • Strong neuro experience preferred: TIA/stroke, epilepsy monitoring, neurosurgical patients, craniotomy, ACDF, TLIF, XLIF, subdural hematoma

Description:

  • Neuro Tele/PCU unit with 29 beds and approximately 27 daily census.
  • Patient population includes TIA/stroke, trauma, epilepsy monitoring, neurosurgical patients, and subdural hematomas.
  • Uses Epic EMR and provides cardiac telemetry/drips, primarily Cardene and heparin.
  • Self-scheduling, float required, no call.
  • Every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
  • 1 RTO request allowed.
  • 12 hours orientation listed in unit details.
  • 48 hours are approved.
  • Level II Trauma Center with 379 staffed beds.
