Job Breakdown – IR Tech / Cath Lab Tech

Role: IR Tech with Cath Lab Tech experience
Contract: 13 weeks
Hours: 40/week

Schedule

• 4×10 hours
• 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Weekend coverage required
• On-call required
• Call: approximately 12–13 days per 6-week period
  • Weekdays: 5:30 PM–7:00 AM
  • Weekend call: Friday 5:30 PM–Monday 7:00 AM
• Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital while on call
• No onsite call accommodation
• Block scheduling not available

Must-Have Requirements

• 2+ years experience
• IR Tech + Cath Lab Tech experience
• Previous travel experience – REQUIRED
• BLS
• ACLS
• RCIS OR ARRT
• Maryland (MD) license – REQUIRED and must be in hand
• Pending license not accepted
• Strong Cath Lab experience

• Cardiac catheterization
• STEMI procedures
• PCI/PTCA
• Angioplasty and stent placement
• Pacemaker/ICD insertion
• EP studies and ablations
• Cardioversion/TEE
• Peripheral vascular procedures
• Thrombectomy/thrombolysis
• Carotid stenting
• IVC filters
• Dialysis graft procedures
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Circulating in procedure rooms
• IV/peripheral/venous access

Unit Details

• 4 procedure rooms
• Approximately 280 cases/month
• STEMI: 8–12/month
• Adult & geriatric patients
• 2–3 teams of 4 during the day
• Team of 4 on call at night
• Equipment includes Philips and Siemens fluoroscopy, Philips Xper hemodynamics and Maquet IABP.

Compliance

• 50-mile local rule: Locals generally not accepted
• RTO must be submitted upfront; only 1 request
• COVID vaccine required, no exemptions
• Flu vaccine required, no exemptions
• Some holidays/weekends expected
• Modules: approximately 4–8 hours, non-billable
• Former permanent employees must be gone 1 year
• After 1 year as a traveler, must separate for 90 days before returning as traveler
