Job Breakdown – L&D RN

Role: Labor & Delivery RN
Schedule: 3×12-hour nights — 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Contract: 13 weeks
Start: 10/19/2026
Travelers: 1st-time travelers accepted
Submittals: Low

Must-Have Requirements

• Minimum 3 years RN experience
• L&D experience
• Epic experience — REQUIRED
• Active California RN license at submission
• AHA BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• AWHONN Advanced
• External fetal monitoring
• Recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart-rate patterns
• C-section circulating experience

Unit

• 4 Triage beds
• 11 LDR rooms
• 2 ORs
• NICU & Postpartum
• 24-hour OB hospitalist
• OB anesthesia
• Handles low- and high-risk L&D
• Patient population: Neonates, adolescents, adults
• Allscripts/eMD, Omnicell, SBAR

Schedule & Call

• 3×12 nights
• 4 weekend shifts per month — Friday or Saturday nights
• Mandatory call: 2 times/month, in addition to scheduled shifts
• May be placed on call if RN is not needed for the scheduled shift
• Must be willing to float to Perinatal
• Must work most holidays

RTO

• Maximum 3 days RTO
• RTO must be submitted with profile
• No RTO during first 2 weeks
• Holiday RTO can be requested but is not guaranteed
• Once submitted, RTO cannot be changed except to cancel requested time

Important Compliance

• Advanced EKG exam required
  • 20 questions
  • 17 rhythm strips + 3 general questions
  • 45-minute limit
  • 2 attempts
  • 80% minimum passing score
  • Failure can result in assignment cancellation
• References required
• Required certifications must be submitted
• Flu vaccine required; exemptions/declinations allowed
• Smoke/nicotine-free facility
• Background/license restrictions or investigations may disqualify the candidate
