Job Details

Job Title: Utilization Review / Care Manager RN
Facility Type/Setting: Remote – Acute Hospital Utilization Management
Facility/Location: California; 100% Remote
Shift & Schedule: Days, 5×8 hours; 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM PST
Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Local Accepted?: Yes, within 50 miles at lower bill rate
Call/Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend; must work 3 of 5 holidays; no call

Requirements

Valid CA RN license required
3 years acute medical Care Manager/Utilization Management experience in a hospital setting
Minimum 1 year experience required
Epic experience required; recent use within the last 6–12 months
InterQual experience required
Medicare knowledge required
Experience with HMOs, IPAs, and Medi-Cal
Experience with Medicare 2-Midnight rule and UM regulations
Remote utilization review experience
Compact license must be in hand at submission

Responsibilities

Perform utilization review for inpatient, Extended Hospital Outpatient, and observation services
Determine medical necessity using InterQual criteria
Conduct concurrent, continued-stay, retrospective, and pre-certification reviews
Perform care coordination and admission reviews
Review patients across adult and pediatric acute/chronic diagnoses
Support centralized UM services across four facilities
