IMP — Must-Haves

• Minimum 1 year Neuro OR experience
• Must have recent experience with:
  • Spinal fusions
  • Craniotomies
  • Other neuro OR cases
• Must be well-rounded in Neuro OR
• BLS (AHA)
• RN circulator experience
• Must be willing to take night call
• Active Illinois RN license or license application initiated

⚠️ Spinal fusion + craniotomy experience is mandatory. Candidates without this experience will be redirected — no exceptions.

OR Details

• 4 OR suites
• Approximately 200 neuro surgeries/month
• Cases include spine, craniotomies, and other neuro procedures
• 1 RN circulator per room
• 1 RN/Scrub Tech to scrub
• OR Techs available
• Charge/Lead Supervisor available
• House Supervisor 24/7

Schedule & Call

• 10-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Weeknight call: 1–2 nights/week, 5:30 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekend call: Approximately 1 weekend/month
• Holiday call: Required
• No self-scheduling
• Floating possible but unlikely

Other Requirements

• Blue scrubs provided; bring personal shoes
• Orientation: typically 1 full 40-hour week
• Call-off policy: 12 hours per 13-week contract
• Local rule: within 50 miles = local rate, $25 less on regular and OT bill rates
• Submission requires:
  • Last 4 SSN digits
  • Middle initial
  • Requested time off
  • IL license or proof application started
• Negative drug screen required; OSF is a drug-free campus

Best candidate: A Neuro OR RN with 1+ year of strong Neuro OR experience, specifically spinal fusions + craniotomies, who is comfortable circulating, taking frequent night call, and working weekends/holidays.
