Ardor Health Solutions is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist for an inpatient rehabilitation contract at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Position Overview

This opportunity is within a 44-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, working primarily with adult patients who require skilled speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing rehabilitation.

The unit has two speech therapists on the day shift and offers access to specialized treatment and assessment equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP with a strong medical background who enjoys neurological rehabilitation, dysphagia management and interdisciplinary patient care.

Clinical Setting & Equipment

  • 44-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit
  • Two speech therapists on the day shift
  • Adult medical rehabilitation population
  • Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) suite
  • VitalStim
  • IOPI
  • EMST150
  • Bioness BITS
  • Potential floating to the acute-care hospital
  • Rotating weekend coverage, typically one shift per month

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat adult patients with speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders
  • Perform dysphagia assessments and treatment
  • Participate in Modified Barium Swallow studies
  • Provide cognitive-communication rehabilitation
  • Treat patients with neurological and other medical conditions
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide patient and caregiver education
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, PT, OT and other rehabilitation professionals
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment and discharge planning
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation

Requirements

Required:

  • Active Virginia SLP license
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Experience treating adult medical populations

Preferred:

  • Neurological rehabilitation experience
  • Inpatient rehabilitation experience
  • Dysphagia and MBS experience

Ideal Candidate: Patient-focused, team-oriented, flexible and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation environment.
