Description

Travel Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Float

Location: Missouri
Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Start Date: Biweekly starts; typically 3–4 weeks after compliance clearance

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
  • BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience.
  • Telemetry monitoring and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation/management.
  • IV insertion and maintenance.
  • ABG interpretation.
  • Central and peripheral line care.
  • Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and respiratory support.
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, surgical drains, wound care, and wound vacs.
  • Ability to float across medical, surgical, oncology, neuro, renal, and cardiology units.
  • Missouri RN license or eligible compact license. Missouri license may be pending; Illinois license must be in hand at submission.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NIHSS certification.
  • Experience with CVA care, feeding tubes, high-flow nasal cannula, PCA, and total joint replacement.

Schedule & Other Details

  • Every other weekend or at least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
  • Holiday rotation required.
  • No on-call.
  • No block scheduling.
  • Maximum 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be finalized at submission. No RTO during the first week.
  • Float assignments may be provided up to 1 hour before the shift.
  • Patient ratios: Days/weekends 1:5–6; nights 1:6.
  • Adult and geriatric patients.
  • Charting: EPIC (general charting-system experience required).
  • Scrubs: Navy blue.
  • Parking: Free.
  • Vaccinations: COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required, with medical or religious exemptions only.

Important: Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility. Candidates with prior BJC/Saint Luke’s employment must meet the applicable return-to-work policy. Travelers must be willing to float within the service line.
