Description
Location: 8951 Woodruff Rd, Woodruff, WI 54568 Start date: ASAP Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Hospice Charting system: Remote client / EPIC
1. Schedule
- Shift timing: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Shift length: 8-hour and 12-hour night shifts.
- Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week.
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
- On-call: Travelers may be placed on call during low-census hours.
- Call-back pay: If called back to the facility, the nurse receives call-back pay, with a minimum of 2 hours.
- Holiday requirement: None specified.
- Floating: Not required.
- Scrubs: Any clean, work-appropriate scrubs.
- Low-census policy: Up to 36 hours of low-census time may be unbillable during the contract. On-call hours assigned for low census count toward this allowance.
2. Responsibilities
The RN will provide nursing care in an 8-bedroom hospice house, with a patient ratio of approximately 6:1.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing head-to-toe patient assessments.
- Monitoring and documenting changes in patients' conditions.
- Responding to telephone calls and patient-related concerns.
- Conducting death visits when a patient passes away.
- Completing nursing documentation in the remote client system / EPIC.
- Responding to clinical events that occur during the night.
- Supporting hospice patients and maintaining appropriate nursing records.
The facility notes that most charting is completed during the day, but all RNs are responsible for documenting events that occur during their shifts.
3. Requirements
Required license and certification
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license.
- Current BLS certification from either:
- American Heart Association (AHA), or
- American Red Cross (ARC).
Experience
- 1–2 years of previous hospice experience required.
Education
- Required: Associate degree or nursing certificate.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
Location restriction
- Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
- The posting lists a radius-rule expiration date of October 23; confirm that the restriction remains applicable before submission.
