Job Highlights

• Nights | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• 4x12s | 48 guaranteed hrs/week
• 30-bed IMU (14 private, 16 semi-private)
• Patient ratios: 1:5 typical, goal 1:4, occasionally 1:6
• Sunrise EMR listed in unit notes
• Self-scheduling available based on unit needs
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• RN license required; facility willing to wait for licensure
• BSN not required
• Must interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must be proficient in cardiac drip titration
• Licensing issues must be disclosed at submission

Clinical Skills / Patient Population

• Chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patients
• Radial band management and removal; groin checks
• Tikosyn therapy monitoring
• Cardiac drip titration:
  • Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine
  • Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, occasionally Lasix
• High-flow oxygen (AirVo) and BiPAP (Respironics)
• Occasional chest tube patients

Floating

• Required to float to Telemetry or Med-Surg
• Floating ratios up to 1:6, occasionally 1:7 in Med-Surg

Weekends / Holidays

• 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Friday, Saturday and Sunday count as weekend shifts
• Holidays as needed, typically covered by permanent staff

Staffing / Support

• Charge RN carries a full patient assignment
• Usually 2–3 CNAs (1:10–12)
• Telemetry technicians available; RNs must interpret their own strips
• 24/7 hospitalist, ICU intensivist and resident coverage
• 24/7 IV team, RT and Pharmacy
• IV team handles all IV starts
• PICC/Midline team available

Additional Notes

• 50-mile radius restriction
• Strict attendance policy: 2 tardy/call-off occurrences may result in termination
• Emergency absences must be reported more than 2 hours before shift
