Primary Location: Poplar, Montana

Contract Duration: 3+ months
Start Date: As soon as credentialing and clearance are completed
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday (8x5)
Shift: Day shift
Position Type: Backfill and new opening
Position Overview:
Fort Peck Service Unit is seeking two qualified Pharmacists to provide safe, effective, and timely pharmaceutical services. The pharmacist will support medication dispensing, prescription review, patient counseling, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to promote medication safety and quality patient care.
The primary work location is the Poplar facility. Candidates should be available to start once all required credentialing, onboarding, and clearances are completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, prepare, and dispense prescriptions and medication orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assess medication orders for appropriate dosing, drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and potential adverse effects.
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients regarding proper use, dosage, side effects, and precautions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support effective medication therapy.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
- Handle controlled substances in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and facility policies.
- Monitor medication safety and communicate potential medication-related concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Support medication inventory management, proper storage, and availability of medications.
- Follow applicable pharmacy standards, clinical protocols, and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality assurance and medication safety initiatives.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Professional pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, active pharmacist license meeting applicable facility and jurisdictional requirements.
- Knowledge of medication therapy, prescription processing, and patient counseling.
- Strong communication, organization, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Ability to complete required background checks, credentialing, and facility clearance.
Schedule and Assignment Details:
- Monday through Friday.
- Eight-hour day shifts.
- Primary work location: Poplar, MT.
- Minimum contract duration: 3 months, with the potential for a longer assignment.
- Two openings: one backfill and one new position.
- Start as soon as all required clearances and onboarding steps are completed.
