Job Breakdown – OR RN (Operating Room Registered Nurse)

• Location: California
• Position: OR RN / Operating Room Nurse
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:45 AM–5:15 PM
• Shift: 4 × 10-hour shifts
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks

• Community Hospital Experience: Required
• Local Candidates: Accepted at local rates; 50-mile radius rule applies

Required License & Certifications

• Active California RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• CNOR

Certifications must be from AHA or ARC, with valid expiration dates.

Clinical Skills Required

The candidate should have OR experience with procedures such as:

• General surgery, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repair
• Orthopedic surgery, including joint replacement and fracture repair
• Gynecological surgery, including hysterectomy and C-sections
• Laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures
• Vascular/thoracic procedures, including VATS
• Scrubbing general, orthopedic, gynecological, and podiatric surgeries
• Specimen handling, infection control, fire safety, and time-out procedures

Preferred: Level I or Level II trauma experience.

Call & Weekend Requirements

• Weekday and weekend call required
• Two 24-hour weekend call shifts per month
• Rotating after-hours call
• Weekend coverage is required.

RTO & Compliance Rules

• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Only one holiday may be requested off per contract
• Labs must be completed within 3–5 days of contract signing
• Compliance documents due 10 days before the start date
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Modules are generally non-billable; time exceeding the 16 NBO hours is billable.
