 Cardiac ICU (CCU) RN

Facility: The Johns Hopkins Hospital Unit: CCU – Zayed 5 West, Cardiac ICU Location: Baltimore, Maryland 
Shift: Day/Night shift

• Active RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of current CCU or CVSICU nursing experience.
• Strong experience with advanced cardiac equipment, including:
  • Impella
  • IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
  • PA catheters (Pulmonary Artery Catheters)
  • CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)

2. Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC charting experience.
• ECMO experience.
• Critical Care Certification.
• Trauma course.

3. Unit Details

• Unit type: Cardiac Care Unit / Cardiac ICU.
• Capacity: 12 beds.
• Acuity: High-acuity critical care.
• Patient population: Patients with acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) and complications such as:
  • Cardiogenic shock.
  • Post-infarction angina.
  • Congestive heart failure.

4. Essential Clinical Skills

The candidate should have hands-on experience caring for patients with advanced cardiac devices, including:

• Impella and IABP.
• ECMO.
• CRRT.
• PA catheters.
• LVADs (Left Ventricular Assist Devices).

Important: The unit states that almost all patients have some type of cardiac device. Candidates need substantial experience managing these patients, not just general ICU experience.

5. Floating

- Floating may be required to another unit with a similar skill set.
