X-Ray Technologist Job Description

Location: Avon, Indiana
Shift Options: Day Shift and Night Shift
Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused X-Ray Technologist to join an imaging team in Avon, Indiana. The technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, produce high-quality images for physician interpretation, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

This position offers both day and night shift opportunities, working five 8-hour shifts per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Position patients and imaging equipment accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines and use appropriate radiation protection techniques.
• Verify patient identity and examination orders before performing procedures.
• Evaluate images for quality and completeness, repeating images when necessary according to protocol.
• Maintain imaging equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Accurately document procedures and maintain patient records in accordance with facility policies.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Active ARRT certification in Radiography (RT(R)) required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Previous X-ray or radiologic technology experience preferred.
• Knowledge of radiographic positioning, imaging techniques, and radiation safety.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to assist with patient movement and positioning as needed.
