ICU RN (Travel Nurse)

1. Position Details

• Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Shift: Rotating days and nights (12-hour shifts)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Hours: 36 hours per week

• Contract Length: 13 weeks

   

2. Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Must be capable of managing total patient care for critically ill ICU patients.
• Must have experience managing:
  • IV drips
  • Ventilators
  • Arterial lines

3. Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

4. License Requirements

• Active South Dakota (SD) RN license or Compact RN license.
• License must be in hand before submission.

5. Patient Types

The ICU cares for patients with:

• Septic shock
• Post-PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention)
• Respiratory failure
• Drug overdose
• STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction)
• NSTEMI (non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction)
• Postoperative conditions

Candidates must be comfortable managing high-acuity patients.

6. Schedule and Weekend Requirements

• Rotating day and night shifts.
• Every other weekend.
• Holiday coverage required.
• Three 12-hour shifts per week.
• No 48-hour workweeks.

7. Important Submission Restriction

Candidates who were previously permanent employees of Avera or Sanford cannot be submitted.
